Driver’s License

Paul Bowers

Zigging and zagging around other cars,

Flying off ramps, just like movie stars,

Pulling a U-ie on I-95,

Yeah, my car’s got speed and jive

One hand on my cell phone, two fingers on the wheel,

My brakes are shot, my tires squeal,

Trying not to flip doing 90 ‘round a curve,

Driving in the left lane, don’ t worry, they’ll swerve.

I might sound a little crazy, like I ain’t got no sense,

But for now, the roads are safe, I don’t have my license.

Yet.

Driver’s License

I’m getting my permit when I turn 15 this September, so that’s where I got my inspiration for this literary masterpiece.  I don’t know what car I’m getting, but I have to pay for it myself, so I’m thinking about either an ice cream truck, a Yugo, or a good ol’ K-Car.  Yeah, that’d be cool.
